All eyes open

The second mask that I have been working on is all about eyes wide open...

Facing the facts...

that I haven't posted in a long time.  Welber at work keeps reminding me of this.  Telling me to get on with it and post something.  Hard when I haven't really done much.  I have been working on masks.  Perhaps this is a follow up with the 30 days Project.  Perhaps this is me wanting to see something different.  Try something different.  Who.  Knows... Not I.  Anywho, I present the start of my mask series...

The last 30 days

I felt an overview of the last 30 days was appropriate.

Happy Birthday Ms. Duncan!

So ended the 30 Days Project for this round.  I really did enjoy it, even though it sometimes meant leaving early to go home and paint and post.  I look forward to the next time but in the meantime, I will be painting other stuff!

30 Days Project Begins

I am participating in the 30 Days Project this year. I decided that my contribution would be 30 skewed portraits. 1 a day for 30 days. None on them pretty. Just funny looking.

Farm Days

I spent the last few months taking part in an art class that was very different from anything I have ever taken. The prof encouraged stealing of others works and then modifying them to make something of your own. I will admit that I rather enjoyed altering photos and making them completely different.

That said, I don't think that I am going to continue making this type of art.

I will stick to painting. In particular, I was working on a piece for a cousin's wedding. Since my cousin and new husband live in the country and have cows, I was inspired to paint a farm inspired piece but with a twist. I chose the subject of a cow. I wanted a realistic head and then I wanted to turn the head into a balloon.

When seeing the painting for the first time, the new husband asked my cousin if the rope was supposed to be vertebrae. That was funny for me.

Drawings have started

For sometime now, I have not blogged. I had not picked up a brush, had not picked up a pen. No lines made on canvas or paper. Truth be told, it was not that I was not motivated... I just was not inspired. Life was busy greeting me with sorrow and I was busy being sorrowful.

I am not sure if things have recently changed because spring is in the air or if it is because all the drugs I am on are starting to work. I will not take the time to ponder this. Nope. I will take advantage of my revived interest in making new creations and sharing them with people.
